Wake On Lan

There are a lot of programs out there that allow you to Wake On Lan a computer, but when they don’t work, it is hard to figure out why.  So I wrote my own. It works on all of the PC’s I have tried, but it will not work on a Mac.  Mac’s power down their ethernet port when the are off (contrary to PC’s), so they will not see the packet.

 Syntax from the command line:

WOLTHINGY [SUBNET]

The mac address is required, while the subnet is not.  If no subnet is submitted, the program will broadcast the wake packet to the subnet the computer you are on is on.  If you want to wake a computer on a different subnet, you must specify that subnet.
