Deja Vu and a Green Cut

So I ran into one of my friends, Tim,  from high school again.  The same friend I mentioned in my previous post.  It’s weird that I haven’t seen or talked to this guy in about eight years, and now I have run into him twice in just as many weeks.  For a while, I thought about how unlikely it is, that we have run into each other twice like this, but then I got to thinking.  We have probably been walking past each other for the past few years, and not really noticing each other.

In other news, my dad’s birthday is coming up, and I decided to get him a reel lawn mower.  No, I spelled that right, its one of those human powered lawn mowers, similar to what they used in the 50′s.  When you push the mower, the wheels spin the blades inside the mower to cut the grass.  Reel mowers have been making a comeback in recent years due the the spike in gas prices.  With everyone being so gas and environment conscientious these days, it seems like a good idea.  I don’t really know if he will ever use the lawn mower; he generally doesn’t use the gifts I give him, but I figure if he doesn’t, then when I buy a house, I can just commendeer it.  I debated for a little while about it, but one of my hippie friends talked me into it.

Blast from the Past?

So I ran into an old friend today.  I went to school with him from kindergarden through high school.  Had he not recognized me walking out of the grocery store, I definatly wouldn’t have recognized him.  Its always a mixed bag, I think, when you run into someone you used to know.  On the one hand you get to connect with your past a little bit, but on the other hand, you really have no reference when talking to your old friend.  I mean I haven’t talked to this guy in nine years.

I mean its basically the same if you would run into a perfect stranger and start asking him or her questions about their life.  The difference, is that an old friend remembers who you were a long time ago.  Oh well.

Happy Friday everyone!

My predictions for WWDC

With 46 minutes to go before WWDC starts, here are my predictions:

  1. Apple will announce they are not coming out with a 3G iphone.
  2. Apple will release a new version of itunes, it won’t work with all current ipods, and will be a mandatory update.
  3. Apple will add gestures to the ipod interface, so to move to the next track you have to swing your arms around like a mad man.
  4. The new ipod will start at $400, and use the new version of itunes.
  5. In addition to screwing over the audio and video “pod”casts you already can’t watch in itunes, the new version will make sure that none of your other “pod”aggregating programs will work either.
  6. Having run out of big cat names, Apple will dump OSX for Windows 7 but call it Tabby.
  7. After their second AppleTV failure Apple will release a bigger, slower, version, in another white box that doesn’t match any of your home electronics.  No one will care.
  8. All current Apple products will shut down halfway through the keynote, prompting you to update your hardware by buying all new products.
  9. Apple will announce the iMAC nano, a computer even smaller and more impossible to secure.
  10. Apple will release a new further nerfed version of Airport. Still no one will know what it does.
  11. And just one more thing: Steveo will show off his new iZune.

:)
